In Arzamas, the Nizhny Novgorod region, the improvement of the May 1 square has been completed and the first pedestrian fountain in the region became its central point, the official portal of the regional government reports.
It is noted that for 18 years a classic fountain with a bowl stood on the site of the new object. As part of the improvement, a recreation area was also created on the square, lighting and video surveillance systems were updated. The landscaping project was developed taking into account the opinions of residents, which they voiced during public discussions in social networks. It is specified that 35 million rubles were allocated from federal, regional, and municipal budgets to restore this area under the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment”.
