Prices for flights within Russia and to Istanbul with a departure from December 25 to January 10 have become 14-17 per cent lower than for the same period in 2019, Izvestia reports. According to Tutu.ru booking service, on average, a round-trip ticket will cost 13,000 rubles instead of 15,100 in the previous year.
It is noted that flights from Moscow to Novosibirsk (31 per cent), Mineralnye Vody (20 per cent), Sochi (9 per cent), and Kaliningrad (2 per cent) fell the most. Also, the prices reduced for flights from St. Petersburg to Simferopol (23 per cent) and Krasnodar (19 per cent), as well as from Moscow to St. Petersburg (38 per cent).
According to OneTwoTrip service, the average price of a ticket on the holidays fell from 13.7 thousand rubles in 2020 to 11.6 thousand rubles in 2021. According to Aviasales, the average price of an air ticket on holidays decreased by 17 per cent, to 10.9 thousand rubles, and the share of ticket sales increased to 96 per cent.
