About two thousand paintings are presented in the “My Tretyakovka” new digital project of the State Tretyakov Gallery, TASS reports with reference to the Director-General of the Museum Zelfira Tregulova. According to her, each piece will be accompanied by an interesting text from researchers.
“Once again, I want to emphasize that this is the first time that we are publishing such a large number of works online and we are well aware that for us this is an opportunity for a much deeper understanding of the scope and scale of the Tretyakov Gallery’s collection,” Tregulova said.
In the future, specialists plan to develop an English-language version of the project. Tregulova noted that in 2020 the gallery launched a number of online projects, and the number of users on the museum’s resources approached 10 million. In addition, she mentioned the Tretyakov Gallery’s YouTube channel, where there are already more than 160 thousand subscribers and more than 5.8 million views in 2020, thanks to which the museum ranks first in Russia among museum channels in terms of the number of subscribers on the platform.
