About 70 new spots were installed inside the Garden Ring in Moscow, to connect to the city network of free Wi-Fi. The Moscow Department of Information Technology promised that by the end of the year 2020 it is planned to install about 300 additional spots on the central city streets, the Moscow Mayor’s official website reports.
It is specified that at the moment, there are more than 19,800 spots of connection to free and unlimited Internet in the capital of the country. It is also possible to connect to the Internet in 162 dormitories of 32 universities, where more than 11,600 spots were installed.
The Head of the City Wi-Fi Product at the Moscow Department of Information Technologies, Alexander Kharitonov, stated that now while moving around the city centre, Muscovites and guests of the city can use city Wi-Fi without re-connecting between the hotspots.
