In Rostov-on-Don, a personal parade was arranged for the veteran of World War II Fedor Serov, reports 1rnd. The Liberator of Rostov reached Berlin and took part in its assault.
Before the veteran, the company of the guard of honour of the Southern Military District and cadets of the military training centre passed a solemn march. A small concert was also prepared.
The veteran participated in the storming of Berlin and the liberation of Prague and then fought in the Far East. From 1955 to 1992 he worked at the Polytechnic College of Communications in Rostov as a teacher of radio discipline.
For military merits, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st class, the Order of the Red Star, medals “For Courage”, “For Battle Merit”, “For the Capture of Berlin”, “For the Liberation of Prague”, medal “For the Victory over Germany”.
