VTB Bank decided to abandon plastic in the production of bank cards. This was reported by RIA News with reference to the press service of the financial institution.
“Instead, it will use environmentally friendly biomaterial that is easy to process and does not pollute the environment,” said Anatoly Pechatnikov, VTB Deputy President and Chairman of the Board.
About one million people will switch to cards from a new material, polylactide, a renewable bio-source. Polylactide is not worse than ordinary plastic, but in terms of the cost of release, they are the same. The press service also reports that the bank’s customers will be able to choose the material the cards they are going to use.
