The Russian-Serbian tactical flight exercises “BARS-2021” have begun in Serbia, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
As specified, joint crews of the two countries are taking part in the exercises, which will last until October 16, involving about 10 units of aviation equipment of the Serbian Air Force and air defence forces from the Batajnica and Lajevci airfields.
According to the Ministry, for the most effective interaction as part of the crews, Russian pilots have studied aviation terminology and phraseology of conducting radio exchange in Serbian beforehand.
During the exercises, the flight personnel of the two countries will work out combat manoeuvring and air combat as part of an action in pairs, performing attacks on low-speed targets on MiG-29 fighters, landing and evacuation of those in distress, complex aerobatics, combat use and other tasks intended for Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters.
