On June 2 was announced the shortlist of the Big Book Award, the state programme for literature development website reports. This year it included 13 Russian writers.
It is noted that the list included Aleksei Salnikov “Indirectly”, Evgeniya Nekrasova “Kalechina-Malechina”, Oleg Lekmanov, Mikhail Sverdlov, and Ilia Simanovsky “Venedikt Yerofeyev. Outsider”, Olgerd Bakharevich “Dogs of Europe”, Linor Goralik “All That Can Breathe a Breath”, Vyacheslav Stavetsky “Life of A. G.”, Guzel Yakhina “My Children”, Evgeny Vodolazkin “Brisbane”, Grigory Sluzhitel “The Days of Savely”, Roman Senchin “Rain in Paris”, Alexander Gonorovsky “Dog Forest”, and Sukhbat Aflatuni “Earth Paradise”.
The winner of the Big Book Award will be announced in early December. He will get the prize of 3 million rubles, second prize amounts to 1.5 million rubles, and third, to 1 million rubles. It is specified that in June will begin a popular vote.
