The Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, proposed using biometrics instead of enhanced qualification electronic signatures for remote interaction with government bodies, the RIA federal news agency reports.
“If we set the task to completely eliminate the need to visit departments, we must ensure the legal significance of the package of documents that a citizen submits,” he explained.
At the moment the only tool for solving this problem is a digital signature, which should be paid. As the Minister noted, various options are currently being considered on how to ensure the legal significance of documents, while eliminating the need to pay money. One of the options is the possibility of biometric identification online.
