Almost three thousand Russian girls took part in the casting announced by Channel One for the lead role in the first feature film to be shot in space, TASS reports with reference to the channel’s general director Konstantin Ernst.
It is noted that about three thousand girls have already taken part in the casting. The next step is to send 30 participants to pass a medical examination. Also, it is specified that among those who will participate in the final casting, there are both famous and unknown actresses, as well as several girls who have no acting experience at all. Those who pass the medical examination will attend the School of Cosmonautics.
It is reminded that the film “Challenge” is a joint project of Roscosmos, Channel One, and the Yellow, Black and White studio. Filming will take place at the ISS in the autumn of 2021. To participate in the casting for the leading role, girls had to record a video showing their acting skills. Among the other requirements were Russian citizenship, age from 25 to 45 years, 150–180 centimetres height, and weight from 50 to 75 kilogrammes.
