The film “Kresty” (“Crosses”) will be the first documentary film produced in Russia on the Netflix platform. It will be possible to watch it already at the beginning of next year, cheltv reports. The film will appear in Russian with English subtitles.
The plot tells about one of the oldest prisons in Russia, located in St. Petersburg, “Kresty”. The film is dedicated to the issue that many famous personalities, such as Marshal Rokossovsky, the poet Joseph Brodsky, and the artist Kazimir Malevich, served their sentences there.
It is specified that the film will be shown on the new platform on January 1, 2021. Until this day, the film will be shown at various film festivals, including the 36th Warsaw Film Festival.
