In Chelyabinsk, a pensioner Maria sells a reproduction of a painting by Russian artist Alexander Ivanov “The Appearance of Christ Before the People”, completely embroidered with threads, chelTV reports.
It is noted that the original painting is the largest in the Tretyakov Gallery. The picture embroidered by a Chelyabinsk craftswoman is much smaller, but its size is also impressive (120×100 centimetres). It is specified that Maria used silk and cotton threads, as well as floss. In addition, she did not use any patterns for embroidery but just looked at the painting.
Maria spent the whole year at work. That is why on the ad site, the price for her work is 1 million rubles. The creator explained this by the fact that she wants the picture to get to the one who will really appreciate it and understand its great value.
