Chelyabinsk Runs Forum for Foreign Students

A forum of foreign students “Ural Fest” is being held in Chelyabinsk.

The Nigerians master Tajik dances, the Japanese take selfies in the Uzbek yurt (housing), Russian names are written in hieroglyphs – this is what the dialogue of cultures looks like.

Windu Vijevira is from Sri Lanka. He is working on a mobile dictionary application to make it easier for foreigners to speak Russian. So far, there are only essential phrases: for example, “here is my passport” or “sorry for being late” and, of course, “how to get to the library?”.

According to statistics, in Russia, there are now 200 thousand foreign students.

“Europeans have come to us. Germany, Czech Republic, and France. And I know that, according to the latest data, we are very interesting for the UK, ”says President of the World Alumni Association, Vladimir Chetiy.

The result of the three-day work of the Ural Fest forum will be the creation of a community of foreign students. It will discuss how to overcome language barriers and make it easier to teach foreign guests in Russia.
