Chess Players Will Gather in Koltsovo Technopolis for Competitions

From January 10 to 13, chess players from all over Russia will gather in the Koltsovo technopolis of the Novosibirsk Region for a sporting event “Rapid Grand Prix of Russia 2020″, reports Technopolis official website

On January 9, there were 292 tournament participants registered for competitions. “Rapid Russian Grand Prix” will gather participants from the Tyumen, Penza, Rostov, Chelyabinsk, Tomsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk regions, the Republic of Tatarstan, Tuva, Buryatia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg.

A simultaneous game session will take place on 30 boards. The main competition will begin on Saturday, January 11th. At the grand opening of the tournament, the head of the region Andrei Travnikov, the mayor of technopolis Nikolai Krasnikov, and the president of the chess federation are expected.

The venue for the competition will be School No. 3 (Molodezhnaya St., 7). Winners and are determined by the points scored. Three winners in each group are awarded medals and certificates. One winner in each group is awarded a cup. The total guaranteed prize pool is 500,000 rubles.
