“Over 1,000 children and family members of Russian servicemen participating in the special operation from 85 regions of the country have been invited to the capital to participate in an excursion programme, the central event of which will be the traditional New Year’s Tree of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation,” the military department noted.

The excursion programme runs from January 3 to 7, 2023. The organizers of the programme are the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation together with the All-Russian children’s and youth military-patriotic public movement “Yunarmiya” (Youth Army).

As part of the visit to the capital, the children took a sightseeing tour of Moscow, visited the Center for Oceanography and Marine Biology “Moskvarium” and the Museum of Cosmonautics. In addition, an informative excursion programme has been organized for them in the Museum and Temple Complex of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and in the Military-Patriotic Park “Patriot”.

“The Ministry of Defense, together with the Yunarmia, are making every effort to support family members of Russian servicemen participating in the SVO [special military operation]. Being together, communicating, learning the history of our country, traveling and exploring new places, the children of servicemen receive the very care, attention, mentoring support and simply the communication that they currently lack,” the military department noted.
