The operating room of the future appeared in the Chelyabinsk cardio centre, the second one in Russia of such a kind, reports chelTV. There is a new generation angiographic complex, a device capable of performing complex operations. The new angiograph cost 50 million rubles; money was allocated from the federal treasury.
A surgeon controls tiny intravascular instruments with a help of an angiograph, the device that emits several x-rays every second. They are radiating during the whole course of an operation, showing where are the tools in a particular moment and what manipulations are being performed.
The organs are examined 10 times more clearly than before. The patient receives a portion of radiation, but the developers of new equipment reduced the small dose to a margin of error. The patient’s radiation dose is 60 times less now, so even babies can be operated on.
