Cosmetics Sales Grew During Self-Isolation in Russia

The Russians began to spend more money on the purchase of cosmetics and perfumes during the self-isolation regime, RIA News reports.

The fiscal data operator (Platform OFD) experts took April sales data coming from more than 900 thousand cash desks from all over Russia and compared the results with last year’s data. The average purchase receipt for perfumes and cosmetics amounted to 1,330 rubles, which is 51% higher than last year; the sales amount increased by 17%, while the number of purchases decreased by 22%. Top purchases include moisturizers, hand sprays, and mascara.
