The Moscow ice cream manufacturer Baskin-Robbins celebrates its 25th anniversary on May 21, according to the Head of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department Alexander Prokhorov, VM.RU reports. Every year the enterprise produces more than 16.5 thousand tonnes of ice cream. In 2020, its exports grew by 25.5 per cent, to $29.65 million.
It is noted that ice cream produced in Russia is one of the favourite desserts of foreigners. According to the Federal Customs Service, over 5.6 tonnes of the dessert were sent to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union from January to March 2021, which is 13 per cent more than the data for the same period last year.
In addition, export revenue increased by 61 per cent, reaching $14 million. The increase in indicators is explained by the shipments to non-CIS countries. Among them was the United States, where 1.9 thousand tonnes worth $4.7 million were exported, which is 3.7 times more than in 2020.
China has become another fan of Russian ice cream. According to statistics for the past months of this year, the PRC increased imports of this product by 43 per cent and bought 576 tonnes of ice cream, Economy Today reports.
