The puppies found in a box by the fire station in Kurgan were taken by its employees and now live there, as the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the deputy head of the VII fire and Rescue squad, Major of the internal service Maksim Kuzmin, in October a report was received about a suspicious object found on Montazhnikov Street. First, according to the departure schedule, Kuzmin’s unit arrived at the place, followed by the rest of the law enforcement agencies. At the collector, they found a tightly closed cardboard box, and inside it were eight puppies.
“We could not be indifferent. All eight were taken to the unit, six puppies were promptly placed in the families of our employees and their relatives, and two babies (a boy and a girl), who over the past couple of months have gained far from a couple of kilogrammes, remained to live on the territory of the unit,” Kuzmin said.
Interestingly, the puppies were given nicknames “corresponding to the situation in which they were found” – Sapper and Mine.
