In the first two weeks of October 2020, the sales of home improvement and renovation products rose 3.2 times over the same period last year. The most dynamic growth in demand was for construction tools (10.5 times) and plumbing (5 times), according to the study of the Wildberries online retailer, KazanFirst reports.
The high dynamics of demand is expected by the increase in the number of flat purchases due to historically low mortgage rates in the country. The most active repairs in October were made by residents of Moscow. In addition to construction goods (the growth by 49 times), Muscovites also purchased tools for repairs (6 times), household goods (3 times growth), furniture and interior items, as well as curtains and home textiles (3 times).
In addition to the Moscow region, a significant increase in demand for construction goods and tools in Wildberries was noted in St. Petersburg (13 times) and in the Krasnodar Territory (10 times), where in summer and autumn there was also an increase in demand for residential real estate.
