Demand for Russian Ice Cream Showed Increase on China Market

Chinese residents are trying to support Russia in the face of tough Western sanctions and are actively buying Russian products, including ice cream, according to a representative of Dmitrovsky Dairy Plant JSC (Svitlogorye trademark) in China, Olga Gubina.

According to Chinese media, after the strengthening of sanctions, sales of the Russian National Pavilion began to grow sharply. The network useres even posted some screenshots of the empty “shelves” of the store on JD.com, Tmall, and Taobao. Many users claim that they buy Russian goods as a sign of support.

“This is true, we felt it this year, sales have increased significantly,” Gubina replied to the question whether the company felt this support.

She noted that the company exports of ice cream to China (although it is a rather expensive product) have increased significantly.

“Some even say, ‘You don’t even have to send, we just want to support you’,” Gubina said.

She explained that the company also offers discount coupons, but right now, in the wake of support, many buyers do not use them, but pay the full cost. In addition, Gubina noted, if earlier, when working with Chinese bloggers, the company paid fixed fees and interest, now many began to work only for interest.
