Digital Transformation Centre Created in Novosibirsk Region

In the Novosibirsk region, with the aim of the digital transformation of key sectors of the economy, social sphere and public administration, the State Budgetary Institution “The Centre for Digital Transformation” was created. This institution was previously called the ‘Centre for Navigation and Geoinformation Technologies’ but after expanding the range of tasks and areas of work the centre was renamed, VN.ru reports.

The institution has created a department of artificial intelligence technologies, which ensures the development and implementation of intelligent voice communication systems with residents of the region. In addition, the employees of the new institution are involved in the development of requirements for the “Intelligent Transport System” and work on automating tasks and setting up the logic programmes of the control and supervisory activity system.

It is specified that digital transformation is one of the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030. As part of the “Digital Transformation” national goal, it is planned to achieve “digital maturity” of key sectors of the economy and social sphere, including healthcare and education, as well as public administration, increase the share of mass socially significant services available in electronic form, etc. One of the key directions in achieving the national goal is the development of artificial intelligence.
