Drunk Scooters Driving to Be Prohibited in Russia

The Ministry of Transport of Russia and the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate have prepared a large package of changes to the rules on the road, RBC reports. The amendments concern owners of electric scooters, electric unicycles, segways, skateboards, and roller skates. 

According to the restrictions of the Ministry of Transport, drivers in Russia will be prohibited from exceeding the speed of 20 km/h in crowded places and using their vehicles while intoxicated. Children under 7 years old must ride only when accompanied by an adult.

As for public transport and passenger transportation, only buses with seats and seat belts will be able to travel at a speed of 90 km/h outside the city. For the rest, the speed limit will be 70 km/h. Buses carrying children will be required to be equipped with orange beacons.

There are also created new requirements for car tinting. In particular, the windshield must transmit at least 70% of the light (previously this figure was 75%). It is specified that currently, the document prepared by the Ministry of Transport is being approved.
