In 2021, it is planned to build eco-centres of the Max format in Nizhny Novgorod, NewsNN reports. In addition to glass, plastic, and paper, used equipment will also be accepted, according to the Commercial Director of “Istok” UK LLC, Ruslan Maslennikov, during the live broadcast of the meeting of the standing committee of the Nizhny Novgorod City Council on ecology published on the official website of the institution.
Maslennikov noted that one point of the new format is already under construction. It is specified that the facility is scheduled to be opened in mid-April. He also noted that in total, Nizhny Novgorod residents have access to 48 points for receiving secondary raw materials, and there is one more in Dzerzhinsk; 38 of them were created in the format of eco-points.
It is specified that in 2019, local residents delivered 2.6 thousand tonnes of waste paper, 190 tonnes of plastic, and 162 tonnes of glass. At the same time, the indicators compared to last year increased by 55 per cent. Maslennikov stated that Nizhny Novgorod companies are joining the Ecooffice project, as part of which more than 3,000 special containers have been installed in the premises of 500 organizations. Thanks to them, they accepted about 100 tonnes of waste paper, 7 tonnes of plastic, and 10 tonnes of glass.
