The Budget and Taxes Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region approved the draft amendments to the regional law on transport tax. Now, it can be reduced for electric vehicles, NewsNN reported.
It is noted that as of January 1, 2020, 61 electric cars were registered in the Nizhny Novgorod region, of which 11 are hybrids. At the same time, in 2019 their number reached only 26. Now the officials of the region are proposing to cut the tax rate per horsepower by 50% from 2021 to 2023. Thus, it is planned to stimulate the demand for electric vehicles, which are the most environmentally friendly mode of transport.
