The EU countries have adjusted restrictions on the supply of certain goods and services to the Russian aviation industry as part of the seventh package of sanctions, the EU Council said in a press release.

“Technical assistance to Russia in aviation goods and technologies will be allowed to the extent necessary to ensure the work on the establishment of technical industrial standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization,” the message says.
On Thursday, July 21, new restrictive measures were approved by representatives of the EU countries. The new package, among other things, included a ban on the purchase of gold and jewelry, new export control measures, freezing of Sberbank assets, and 50 new individuals and legal entities were also blacklisted.
Previously, Europe has already imposed six packages of economic restrictions against Russia after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In particular, the EU banned the supply of civilian aircraft and spare parts to Russia, and obliged lessors to terminate contracts with Russian airlines. Aircraft maintenance and insurance services were also banned.
As Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, said, the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, but sanctions have caused a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the US and Europe is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
