In 2021, Maslenitsa week falls on the period from March 8 to March 14. During this period, Russians eat pancakes with sour cream, butter, meat, berries, or condensed milk. In honour of the holiday, the specialists of the regional statistics service (Nizhegorodstat) have determined the cost of food set for the preparation of a traditional Pancake week dish, NewsNN reports.
It is noted that for the calculations, a standard recipe for making pancakes was adopted, in which 1 litre of milk contains 400 g of flour, 4 eggs, 50 g of butter and 50 g of vegetable oil, 60 g of granulated sugar, and 3 g of salt. In February 2021, taking into account the prices in the region, the cost of food set for making pancakes is 142.57 rubles.
It is specified that the price of milk for the year has risen from 56.84 to 58.35 rubles per litre, the price of flour jumped from 13.80 to 15.97 rubles per 400 grammes, and eggs price grew from 22.43 to 30.21 for 4 pieces. In addition, 50 grammes of butter in 2021 costs 29.09 rubles against 27.63 last year, and sunflower oil has risen in price from 4.77 to 6.14 rubles per 50 grammes. Finally, 60 grammes of sugar rose from 1.56 to 2.77 rubles, while the price of salt increased by only 1 kopeck.
