Experts from the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VTsIOM) conducted a study based on the results of which they compiled ratings of Russians’ trust in politicians, their assessments of the activities of state institutions, as well as the attitude of the country’s residents to parties.
The results of the study showed that the rate of approval of the President’s activities from May 24 to May 30, 2021, amounted to 61.6 per cent (+0.3 percentage points over the week). The level of positive assessment of the work of the Prime Minister and the Government of Russia over the last week amounted to 43 per cent (-1.4 percentage points over the week) and 37.1 per cent (0 percentage points over the week), respectively.
A direct question about trust in Vladimir Putin was answered positively by 66.4 per cent of respondents (+1.4 percentage points per week), Mikhail Mishustin – 51.4 per cent (-1.6 percentage points per week), and Vladimir Zhirinovsky – 33, 5 per cent (+2.3 percentage points per week). In the spontaneous rating of trust in Russian politicians, the indicator of Vladimir Putin was 27.2 per cent (+0.3 pp in May). The second and third positions in the list are occupied by Sergei Shoigu (14.2 per cent, +0.3 pp in May) and Sergey Lavrov (11.6 per cent, +0.4 pp in May).
In addition, the centre’s specialists found out that the level of support by Russians for the United Russia party was 29.7 per cent (+0.2 pp over the week). In turn, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was supported by 13.2 per cent of respondents (+0.5 pp over the week), the LDPR was supported by 10.2 per cent (0 pp over the week), and A Just Russia – Patriots – For the Truth – 7. 3 per cent (-0.5 pp per week).
