According to the results of 2022, Moscow, Sochi, and Grozny turned out to be the most comfortable cities for Russians. The country’s places with the best quality of life were named by analysts of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in their research.
The quality of life index is calculated based on data from a survey of residents of cities with a population of more than 250 people. Experts asked people about their level of material well-being, the quality of medical care, the availability of real estate, the environmental situation in their cities, the quality of education, the work of housing and communal services, as well as the improvement of the city and the condition of roads.
According to the experts, Moscow has become the leader of the rating. The capital of Russia is ahead of other cities in terms of material well-being, quality of medical care and many other indicators. Sochi takes the second place, with different components of city life are optimally balanced there. Grozny was on the third line, ahead of others in terms of housing and communal services and the condition of roads. It also ranks first in terms of small and medium-sized businesses.
Next in the list go St. Petersburg, Nizhnevartovsk, Kaliningrad, Vladikavkaz, Murmansk, Cherepovets, and Tyumen.
“For a number of years, Tyumen has occupied the first place in the rating. Now it is back in the leadership group. The leaders also include Yekaterinburg, which has achieved impressive success in improving the quality of education, and Nizhny Novgorod, which is distinguished by the high dedication of citizens to their city,” explained Alexey Zubets, director of the Institute of Socio-Economic Research of the Financial University.
