Experts from the Tutu.ru travel planning service found out where Russian tourists plan to travel in April 2021 by train, and which cities were popular in March, RIA News reports.
According to analysts, most of the train trips are planned on the routes Moscow – St. Petersburg, Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow – Kazan, Moscow – Ivanovo, and Moscow – Voronezh. Also quite popular are trains running between Moscow and Yaroslavl, Belgorod, Sochi, Smolensk, Bryansk, Vladimir, Tula, Kursk, Saratov, Orel, Rostov-on-Don, and Simferopol. In addition, the ranking includes the Sochi – Krasnodar and Krasnodar – Adler routes.
In March, the most popular route was also a trip from Moscow to St. Petersburg. In the second place, as in April, the Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod route, and in the third, Moscow – Bryansk. The specialists noted that there is still a demand for short-distance rail travel with inexpensive tickets. Of the twenty most popular destinations, 8 fit into the travel budget of up to 1,000 rubles one way. It is specified that the average bill for a railway ticket in Russia for April is 2,262 rubles one way.
