Over the past two years, the volume of bank deposits of individuals has increased in Russia by 19.6% or 5 trillion rubles. Currently, an average of 210 thousand rubles are deposited per person, RIA News reports.
Moscow with a significant margin tops the ranking of Russian regions in terms of bank deposits per each inhabitant (858.7 thousand rubles). Analysts attribute this to the fact that the Russians who earn more money than others prefer to live in the capital. The second place occupies St. Petersburg (440 thousand rubles per inhabitant).
In other constituent entities of the Russian Federation which were also included to the top 10, deposits exceed 225 thousand rubles, namely Magadan region, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Territory, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Sakhalin region, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Murmansk and Moscow regions.
