Specialists of the SuperJob job search service conducted a study among representatives of the economically active population of Russia and found out what residents of the country value most in their cities.
According to the results of the study, Petersburgers like life in their city a little more than Muscovites (88 per cent and 83 per cent, respectively). However, among the Russian megalopolises, there are those that are loved by the population more than the capitals by their inhabitants. These are Tyumen and Kazan. In the overall ranking of cities loved by their residents, St. Petersburg is in third place with Krasnodar and Sochi, and Moscow is in sixth place along with Samara.
Assessing the development of the key parameters of life in their cities, Muscovites 1.5 times more often than Petersburgers noted the progress of the public transport system (45 per cent and 30 per cent, respectively) and highways (30 per cent and 19 per cent). In turn, the ratings of theatres and cinemas in St. Petersburg are significantly higher than in Moscow (30 per cent and 23 per cent, respectively). The restaurant sector in St. Petersburg is also developing better than that in Moscow (41 per cent and 32 per cent).
Moscow is leading in terms of parks and squares (44 per cent and 36 per cent). The benevolence and friendliness of the residents of their hometown were noted by Petersburgers almost 2 times more often than Muscovites (25 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively). The best grades of universities were recorded in Perm. In Sochi, there is a good environment, and in Tyumen, everything is excellent in most of the parameters of life.
It is stated that the availability of comfortable housing in Voronezh, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Sochi, and Khabarovsk declined over the year, while in Vladivostok, on the contrary, it has increased. The federal road repair programme’s progress is assessed as well-developing in Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Perm, Saratov, Togliatti, Ufa, and Chelyabinsk. The estimates of the development of public transport are high in Vladivostok, Voronezh, Omsk, Perm, and Saratov. The availability of good jobs increased significantly in Vladivostok and Tyumen. Finally, the number of citizens who like to live in their hometown increased in Chelyabinsk, Perm, and Saratov.
