The total volume of lending to Russians over the past year has increased by 13 per cent, RIA News reports, which ranked the most and the least credited regions of the country.
Among the most heavily credited regions were Kalmykia, Tuva, and Kurgan region, where the degree of debt burden is 87 per cent, 76 per cent, and 73 per cent, respectively. The top five also included the Orenburg region and the Chuvash Republic.
As for the lowest rates, the top three included Ingushetia, Crimea, and Chechnya, followed by Dagestan. According to experts, the reason for this is the underdeveloped banking system and poor availability of loans.
