Experts Named Russians’ Favourite Novel in Digital Format

The novel “Anxious People” by Fredrik Backman in electronic format has become the most popular among Russians, as reported by the LitRes group of companies. 

LitRes specialists analyzed the interest of Russians in electronic and audiobooks, identifying the works that were most popular in 2021. The leader of the rating among e-books was Fredrik Backman’s novel “Anxious People”, and in the non-fiction audio format, the bestseller “The Subconscious Mind Can Do Anything!” by John Kehoe.

Among the novelties of 2021, the best-selling book was Matthew McConaughey‘s memoir “Greenlights” in audio format. Boris Akunin became the most popular author of the year, Sergey Lukyanenko is in second place, and Andrey Vasiliev closes the top three. The best genre experts called “self-development and personal growth.”

Among audiobooks, the second place after Kehoe took the book “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. Clason, and the third place was taken by the work “Radical Forgiveness” by Colin Tipping. Next on the list are Matthew McConaughey’s autobiography “Greenlights” and a motivational book on personal growth “You are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life” by Jen Sincero.

As for the novelties of 2021 in audio format, after “Greenlights” goes the detective “Long-term Consequences” by Alexandra Marinina and the love-fiction novel “Seven Days to Megiddo” by Sergey Lukyanenko. The fourth line is occupied by Viktor Pelevin‘s novel “Transhumanism Inc.” and Sergey Lukyanenko‘s fantastic novel “Limit” is in the fifth position.
