Experts Named Top Professions In-Demand of Russian Students

In April — early May 2022, the average salary of babysitters in Russia increased by 30 per cent, the salary of hostesses — by 22 per cent, and the salary of merchandisers — by 13 per cent. This was reported by analysts of the Avito Rabota job search service on May 17, 2022.

The company clarified that such professions are now popular among students in Russia. In the whole country, the median salary in the group of professions “for students” is 35 thousand rubles, and this indicator has not changed over the year.

According to experts, Russian students can earn the biggest amount of money by moonlighting as pickers. Their median salary is 65 thousand rubles. In second place is the job of hostesses, to whom employers offer 55 thousand rubles. In third place, there is a courier job, where you can earn 50 thousand rubles a month.

“Summer part-time job is popular among students — a great opportunity for additional earnings and gaining new experience. Young people willingly go to offline jobs: they get jobs as couriers, babysitters, and cashiers,” the Managing Director of Avito Rabota, Artem Kumpel, said.

He noted that Russian employers easily hire jobseekers without experience, and the number of available offers increases annually.

In addition, at the end of March this year the experts of the job search service reported that the majority (44 per cent) of young applicants in Russia from 18 to 22 years old expect a salary of 50 thousand to 70 thousand rubles after receiving higher education.

It was also noted that 68 per cent of young people in Russia are already employed: 13 per cent of them work in the education and science field, 10 per cent — in marketing and PR, 9 per cent each — in medicine, IT, and services, and 7 per cent each — in accounting and finance. The least number of young people worked in the auto business, as well as in law and art.
