According to the statistics of the Russian Export Centre, the export of goods in the 1st quarter of 2020 was more than 20% higher than in the 1st quarter of 2019 (almost 700 million rubles). It is stated that in 2019 the region in terms of foreign trade turnover rose from 22nd place (2018) to 19th place among Russian regions. It was also specified that the promising sectors of the region’s economy for promotion to foreign markets are biotechnologies and biopharmaceuticals, educational services, IT technologies, industry, medical tourism, and agriculture.
