Experts Revealed Salaries of Russian Cultural Institutions Heads

Among the heads of institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the artistic director of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonia named after Shostakovich, Yuri Temirkanov, had the highest average monthly salary at the end of 2020 (more than 1.3 million rubles), RIA Novosti reports with reference to a document published on the ministry’s website.

In the second place is the General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova, whose revenues amounted to more than 1 million rubles. Next in the ranking is the General Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky whose salary in 2020 was more than 987 thousand rubles.

The general director of the Moscow Kremlin Museum-Reserve, Elena Gagarina, received more than 941 thousand rubles, the Head of the Mosfilm concern, Karen Shakhnazarov, received on average more than 876 thousand rubles a month, the artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, Valeria Fokina, earned 735 thousand rubles, and the theatre director, Rinat Dosmukhamedov, received more than 803 thousand rubles.

The income of the general director of the Bolshoi Theatre, Vladimir Urin, according to the document, amounted to more than 700 thousand rubles a month, and the salary of the artistic director of the Mariinsky Theatre, Valery Gergiev, was more than 646 thousand rubles. In his turn, the artistic director of the Vakhtangov Theatre, Rimas Tuminas, earned more than 673 thousand rubles last year.
