The Draconids meteor shower will pass over the Novosibirsk sky starting from October 5 and lasting till October 10, with a peak on October 8. Yellow and reddish meteors are expected to fall at rates ranging from 10 to 1,000 pieces per hour, VN.ru reports.
The meteor shower from the Draco constellation (“Draconids”), can be seen by Novosibirsk residents in early October 2020. The peak of the meteor shower is expected to start at 8 pm on October 8. It is noted that Draconids will be visible throughout the night, no binoculars or telescopes are needed to observe them. It is also specified that it is best to observe the meteor shower in the early morning hours in an area with a clear dark sky.
The second meteor shower, Orionids, was promised to be visible on October 21, with up to 20 meteors per hour. On November 14-21, the Leonids can be observed in the sky, which is a meteor shower with a radiant in the Leo constellation. Finally, in December, it will be possible to observe the Geminid meteor shower from the Gemini constellation.
