Finnish Minister of Science and Culture, Petri Honkonen, said that Russia’s return to world sport is unacceptable. The politician considered that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) would make a mistake if it softened its position towards athletes from Russia and Belarus.

“They should not be allowed back under any circumstances,” he said.
On December 9, Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Randhir Singh, speaking at the Olympic Summit, said that in Asia there is no longer a need to observe protective measures against Russian and Belarusian athletes. He offered assistance in the participation of athletes in the OCA tournaments, though stressed that the existing sanctions would be respected.
