The first bee breeding farm will be created in the Moscow Region. A number of beekeepers in the region have grown to expand and increase honey production, the Moscow Region Today reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region.

It is planned that the breeding reproducer will provide the region with the most valuable populations and breeds of honey bees. The plans include increasing the number of hives to 1,500, the production of honey up to 100 tons, and creating a breeding bee reproducer. The project to create a pedigree apiary and all related documents are being prepared. It is noted that the farm included 15 beekeepers from Yegoryevsk, Volokolamsk, and Kolomna, and the cooperative was given grants as financial support.
