First Cargo Ship After Russia’s Special Operation Start Arrived From Mariupol to Rostov-on-Don

The first cargo ship that left the Mariupol port after the resumption of its work arrived in Rostov-on-Don, the administration of the Rostov port told Interfax. Earlier, it was reported that the Slavutich-type cargo ship entered the port of Mariupol after its complete clearance, where it was loaded with metal for shipment to Rostov-on-Don.

“The ship has arrived [at the port of Rostov-on-Don], is on the roadstead waiting for the commission,” the Interfax interlocutor said.

On May 25, the Russian military announced that the port of Mariupol had started operating normally. The official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Igor Konashenkov then said that the measures for mine clearance and demilitarization of the seaport had been completed.

On May 31, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed footage of the ship leaving the port of Mariupol, accompanied by boats of the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet.

It is specified that the port of Rostov-on-Don has the status of an international one, which accepts and handles river-sea class vessels with a carrying capacity of up to 5 thousand tonnes, as well as foreign vessels with similar characteristics and a draft of up to 4 meters.
