First Robotic Archive Appeared in Moscow

In the Moscow Main Archive, documents are stored in more than 40 buildings and premises, the official website of the Moscow Mayor reports. The work of archives is based on the principle of shelving and manual search. In total, archival materials occupy more than 90 thousand square metres in healthcare, social protection, and education institutions.

It is noted that the new archive cluster will ensure maximum safety of documents that confirm work experience, education, awards, and property rights of Muscovites. The intellectual system of the new archive will be based on modern information technologies that will involve a robotic line for searching, loading, and unloading documents. Human participation is required only at the stage of receiving the application and issuing documents.

It is also promised that by the end of next year, it is planned to build a storage facility, which will contain about 100 million storage units. A building with an area of ​​11 thousand square metres will be built for the archive management centre with special areas for receiving the population, and about 2.4 thousand appeals can be processed there a day.
