The Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft plant handed over to the Russian Armed Forces the first of the planned batch of the Su-57 fighters.
The Su-57, developed by ‘Sukhoi’ company, is said to be the most advanced Russian military aircraft built on the latest platform. It is a fifth-generation multipurpose fighter designed to destroy all types of enemy ground, air and surface targets while penetrating air defence systems.
It is expected that by the end of 2024, the Aerospace Forces will receive 22 fighters. In total, according to the state contract, the delivery of 76 aircraft is planned by 2028. It is specified that the contract for the production of a large batch of fighters by order of Russian President, Vladimir Putin, was signed during the “Army 2018” forum.
