Moscow will conduct tests of the first unmanned tram, Moscow city news agency reports. According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, Maksim Liksutov, in the future, electric transport can be launched in the city with the help of the Yandex company.

It is specified that to date, about 100 unmanned vehicles are driving along the roads of Moscow. In the future, it is expected that their usage will prevent over 70 per cent of traffic accidents. Earlier it was reported that by 2040 unmanned taxis, buses, and rail transport will travel in Moscow. Unmanned vehicles will help unload roads and improve the traffic schedule. In addition, according to the Moscow Department of Transport, river transport will be launched in Moscow in 2021–2022 and will operate all year round.
