In 2020, Russia plans to create a job search service for convicted citizens, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) said on January 9. The service will be launched on the portal “Work in Russia” in all the institutions of its territorial bodies.
Employees of the social protection group will work in the colonies and will be able to publish summaries of prisoners through their personal account on the portal, as well as send applications of candidates for employment. This will allow establishing contact between the convict and his future employer.
“For now, an information card template has been developed on the portal and tests have been conducted,” Interfax quotes the FSIN.
The official representative of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Kristina Panshina, noted that citizens who receive a term are regularly trained in vocational schools and receive working specialities and specific professions. A total of approximately 130 thousand prisoners receive vocational education every year. At the same time, training is provided for 167 professions.
