Fountains Season Opened in St. Petersburg [Video]

The fountain season opened today, on May 1, 2021, in St. Petersburg. City Vodokanal launched fountains at the Winter Palace, in the Alexander Garden, and at the Kazan Cathedral, TASS reports with reference to the organization’s page on the VK social network. 

“Fountains have woken up in St. Petersburg! For us, this is the beginning of a new season, the launch of renewed fountains, restoration and repair. And it is also a time of great joy and new discoveries. We invite you to share them with us. Spring and summer is the best time to take a look at Petersburg as a fountain capital,” the message says.

According to Vodokanal, in total, the fountains started operating at 50 addresses. Among them are fountains in the park near the Winter Palace and Kazan Cathedral, in the Alexander Garden of St. Petersburg, as well as in the cities of Lomonosov, Pavlovsk, Sestroretsk, Zelenogorsk, and Kronstadt, which are part of St. Petersburg. It is specified that quests, interesting routes, a photo competition and many nice surprises have been prepared for visitors.
