World War II veterans can now travel throughout Russia for free. From January 1, 2020, this category of pensioners was given the opportunity to travel by long-distance trains without any restrictions.
The privilege applies to cars of all categories, including Lux, and the number of trips is unlimited. With each veteran, one accompanying person can proceed for free, according to the Federal Passenger Company.
Previously, such benefits were available to people with disabilities and participants in the war, but their validity was limited to an action dedicated to May 9th.
However, since 2020, free travel has been made perpetual. The reason for this is the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
