The Omsk Oil Refinery ‘Gazprom Neft’ conducts the first stage of technological equipment testing of the complex for the deep processing of oil, the company’s official website reports.
The future complex with a capacity of 2 million tons will allow the Omsk Oil Refinery to increase the depth of oil refining and flexibly regulate the proportions of automobile and aviation fuels and raw materials for lubricants. The first step involves testing a hydrogen production facility. The next stage is testing on the main section of the complex, a hydrocracking unit designed to produce diesel fuel, gasoline, and jet fuel. After confirming the absolute tightness of the equipment, specialists will start commissioning.
According to the general director of the refinery, Oleg Belyavsky, the construction of a deep oil refining complex will allow increasing the oil refining depth to 97%, thereby increasing the share of the output of the most popular products. It is noted that the construction of the deep oil refining complex is included in the master plan of the federal project “Clean Air”. The project provides for modern environmental solutions that will further reduce the environmental impact of production.
