German journalist, Andreas Sieler, admired the landscapes of Tyumen. In his opinion, the city can tell foreigners about Russian architecture of different eras and show the beauty of nature, Frankfurter Rundschau reports.

“Founded in 1586, Tyumen has historically been an important trading centre and is one of the oldest settlements in all of Siberia. Today it is a modern university city with a kind of Western flavour: large shopping centres, restaurants offering dishes for every taste, as well as the architecture of different styles and eras,” Sieler said.
Sieler was surprised by a large number of historical buildings and noted that representatives of many national minorities live in Tyumen, who continue to engage in traditional crafts.
