The snowboarder from Novosibirsk region took first place at the XIX Winter Deaflympics, which are held from December 12 to 21 in Italy.
Deaflympics are sports competitions for people with hearing impairments. Novosibirsk athlete Margarita Noskova took gold in the discipline “snowboard cross”. Among other sports disciplines there are also skiing, ski race, snowboarding, curling, ice hockey and chess.
In total, nine Novosibirsk athletes are part of the Russian national hockey team. Hockey players have already held two games – their rivals were Canadian, US and Kazakhstan teams.
Two years ago representatives of the Novosibirsk region won two medals of the XXIII Summer Deaflympics.
